We are a community-focused, volunteer-run radio station serving Huntley, Illinois. We connect our community through great music from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s and ’90s…the songs you grew up with and still love today, as well as news and weather updates, local information, community programming, local organizations and Huntley Red Raider Football.

Truly Local Radio

We believe local radio should be exactly that — LOCAL!

We provide a platform for Huntley organizations, local leaders, schools, nonprofits, businesses and community members to share their stories and keep our neighbors informed about what is happening right here at home.

From Around Town and other locally focused programming to community events and Huntley Red Raider Football, our goal is to be where Huntley is.

Our Story

Huntley Community Radio began as an internet radio station in 2012. In October 2014, the station expanded to over-the-air broadcasting on 101.5 FM as WHRU-LP,  bringing Huntley its own community radio station.

Today, listeners can listen throughout Kane & McHenry counties and online at HuntleyRadio.com.

Community Powered

Huntley Community Radio is operated by volunteers and supported by local businesses, organizations, donors and listeners who believe in the importance of local community radio.
