Kathleen Carr hosts How Does Your Garden Grow?. Carr is the owner of The Growing Scene Garden Center and Landscape company. This business has been a lifelong dream of Kathleen’s. Kathleen began her business at the young age of 11 by growing and selling vegetables at the same family location. She then pursued her educational goals, earning an Agricultural Sciences degree from Texas A&M University. She taught horticulture and worked for three of the most well-respected nurseries in the Midwest. Finally, in 1996, with the help of her husband, Chris, Kathi’s dream became a reality with The Growing Scene, Inc. With the continued support of chris and their three children, the business has grown to include a Garden Center, Landscaping company and Farm Stand.
Kathleen values education and continues to listen and learn about gardening through many forums. In addition to hosting the gardening program on our radio station, she writes a gardening column in The Sun Day newspaper, frequently speaks to local organizations, and teaches classes about gardening.
